'A quiet kind of power.' Here's what some of our exhibitors have to say about Antwerp Design Week

What happens when you ask 24 Belgian design brands the same few questions?

You get a chorus of voices. Unique, honest, and deeply connected to their craft.

We asked every brand how they define Belgian design. What they hope you’ll feel. And what matters most in their work.

Here’s what stood out.

Belgian design doesn’t scream. It stays.

Again and again, we heard: Belgian design isn’t loud. It’s layered. Intelligent. Rooted in craft. It lingers — in texture, in material, in memory.

Koen Van Guijze puts it simply: “Belgium has always had creativity. Now it’s coming together in one place — Antwerp. That’s powerful.”

From the poetic florals of Jasaco to the global sparkle of Goodwill’s decorations, every voice echoed the same idea: There’s identity here. Vision. Soul.

ADW isn’t a trade fair. It’s an invitation.

Instead of halls and booths, ADW opens real doors. Into showrooms. Into studios. Into stories.

“It’s not a mass event,” Jasaco says. “It’s a discovery.”

Cosentino calls it “an immersive platform.”

Mobitec describes it as “a space where everything breathes a little slower.”

And PAJUdesign nailed it: “Visitors don’t just see your product. They step into your world.”

Craft is king. Sustainability, the compass.

Every single brand we spoke to shared one clear value: Make less, but make it matter. From handmade glass and reclaimed teak (Gommaire) to hand-poured coconut-soy wax candles (Mon Dada), ADW brands show that sustainability isn’t a slogan. It’s a mindset.

Whether it's modular lighting (Lucide), refillable carafes (Paveau), or wireless chargers made from natural stone (POQQ), these makers prove that conscious design can be beautiful too.

One message.

Craftsmanship still matters.

Innovation doesn’t need to be loud.

Beauty can be sustainable and deeply personal.

And Antwerp isn’t just a design capital. It’s a design movement.

And perhaps, that’s exactly what Antwerp Design Week is all about: Design that surprises but speaks softly and leaves a lasting impression.
