Huis Hosted by Het Labo
Avoiding conventions and beaten paths, Het Labo has been bringing together different disciplines and generations for decades through lively themed exhibitions and interventions in public spaces.
During ADW ’26, they will enrich Nieuw Zuid with a state-of-the-art interior.
Halfway between the galleries of Sofie Van de Velde and Tim Van Laere, you step into their wonderful universe. Expect a mix of young and established talent, from unknown to recognized, featuring visual artists and designers…
In the 1990s when there were hardly any venues for design and/or applied arts in Antwerp — Het Labo was already active in Antwerp, organizing thematic exhibitions that broke down all boundaries between disciplines.
All that may be history now… but the collective has continued to renew and reinvent itself ever since and is still very much alive, as evidenced by the many exhibitions and public interventions, such as Kunstennacht in Hasselt, Vollebak Vennestraat in Genk, Curiosities in Hasselt and Istanbul, and many more. Their DNA hasn’t changed.
