During Antwerp Design Week, ID&A Mechelen presents “A RAW IDEA – the young designer as a tool” at the iconic Boerentoren. The exhibition positions the young designer as an engaged actor of today — a tool to question the present and to set change in motion. Students and young graduates present realized projects alongside models, material experiments and traces of thought, revealing both process and outcome. Doubt remains visible and choices are not smoothed over. Rather than celebrating objects alone, the exhibition shifts the focus to the position of the designer. Design appears not as a final solution, but as a series of deliberate choices responding to the societal challenges of today and tomorrow.
